Como tantas vezes prometido, hoje trago-vos um post sobre a minha mais recente (e bem demorada) leitura, a saga Divergente.
I've been stuck in this serie for 4 ridiculous months. I feel ashamed and sorry for not being able to include something so important like reading in my routine, but I keep working on it.
Estive presa a esta saga durante 4 ridiculos meses. Sinto vergonha disso e pena de não conseguir incluir uma coisa que gosto tanto de fazer na minha rotina, mas continuo a trabalhar nisso.
In these four months I've been back and forth a few times and I made a presentation on the first volume, Divergent.
Nestes 4 meses, já voltei algumas vezes atrás e já fiz uma exposição oral sobre o primeiro volume, Divergente.

At the beginning, where I had more difficulty was with the factions. It's on this that I will talk about in this post as well as give my general opinion about the series. The factions are the groups in which society is divided in the country Tris, the main character, and all that we know in the first two books live.
Onde tive mais dificuldade, no inicio, foi com as fações. É esse aspecto que eu vou aprofundar neste post além de dar a minha opnião geral sobre a obra. As fações são os grupos em que a sociedade se divide no país onde Tris, a personagem principal, e todas as que conhecemos nos dois primeiros livros vivem.
The selfless/Abnegation faction is where Beatrice was born, Tris nickname as I mentioned before, and another important character who you will find out later. They are very calm people, lead a life private of luxury, dedicated to the general welfare, but specifically of others, and are those who blame selfishness. One of the things Tris noticed when she moved to the Dauntless is that they dedicat only the second day of every third month for a haircut and unique opportunity to see themselves in a mirror because its a vanity signal. Also they don't use elevators, always give their place in public transport and queues. Their clothes are gray so they don't call attention to themselves and are very modest compared to haircuts, with a typical cut that is adopted by the majority. The only accessory that are allowed to use is a clock and just because it can be useful. Public demonstrations of affection are forbidden and seeb as disgusting. Suicide, as well as the celebration of birthdays, is seen as selfish act. They have as rival the Erudite because these through knowledge, struggle for power which goes against the principles of selfless.
Os Abnegados é a fação de origem de Beatrice, de alcunha Tris como já mencionei antes, e de outra personagem importante que irão descobrir mais tarde. São indivíduos muito calmos, levam uma vida privada de luxos, dedicam-se ao bem estar geral, mas especificamente dos outros, e como já deu para perceber são aqueles que culpam o egoísmo. Uma das coisas que Tris notou mal se mudou para os Intrépidos é que os Abnegados dedicam apenas segundo dia de cada terceiro mês para um corte de cabelo e única ocasião para se verem num espelho por isso ser um sinal de vaidade. Também não usam elevadores, dão sempre o seu lugar nos transportes públicos e filas. As suas roupas são cinzentas para que não chamem á atenção e são muito modestos em relação a cortes de cabelo, tendo um corte típico que é adotado pela maioria. O único acessório que estão autorizados a utilizar é um relogio e só por este ser útil. Demonstrações publicas de afeto são proibidas e interpretadas como nojentas. Suicidio , assim como a celebração de aniversários, é visto como acto de egoísmo. Têm como rival os Eruditos pois estes através do conhecimento, lutam pelo poder o que vai contra os princípios dos Abnegados.
The Honest/Candor defend truth, justice and impartiality and blame duplicity so they always speak the truth, even if it's the most painful. For them it's always black on white and this is reflected in the colors of their clothes. They have as rival the peaceful because they thought those looking to get along with everyone always ends up being dishonest and lying. It's the faction of birth of one of her best friends and even though her friend moved to the Dauntless maintain the characteristic of knowing whether a person is lying.
Os Cândidos defendem a verdade, justiça e a imparcialidade e culpam a duplicidade e por isso falam sempre a verdade, mesmo que seja a mais dolorosa. Para eles é sempre branco no preto e isso reflete-se nas cores do seu vestuário. Têm como rival os Cordiais por acharem que quem procura dar-se bem com todos acaba sempre por ser desonesto e mentir. É a fação onde nasceu uma das suas grandes amigas e esta, apesar de se mudar para os Intrépidos mantêm a característica de conseguir saber sempre se uma pessoa está a mentir.
The intelligent/Erudite are dedicated to the discovery and preservation of knowledge and blame ignorance for human error. Wear fashionable clothes with predominantly blue color, they are always clean and presentable and are very polite. It's from this faction that come teachers, scientists and technological advances for all factions.
Os Eruditos dedicam-se á descoberta e preservação do conhecimento e culpam a ignorância pelas falhas humanas. Usam roupas elegantes com predominância da cor azul, sempre estão limpos e apresentáveis e são muito educados. É desta fação que saíem os professores, cientistas e os avanços tecnológicos para todas as fações.
The main features of The Peaceful/Amity are peace, kindness, forgiveness, trust, self-sufficiency and neutrality. They don't recognize any leader but is Johanna Reyes who represents them and struggle to maintain unity between the faction. This first book does not talk much but this faction at the beginning of the second yes, as this faction will be a safe haven for Tris and Tobias.
As principais características dos Cordiais são a paz, bondade, perdão, confiança, autossuficiência e neutralidade. Não reconhecem nenhum líder mas é Johanna Reys que os representa e luta para manter a união entre a fação. Este primeiro livro não fala muito nesta fação mas no inicio do segundo sim, visto que esta fação será um abrigo seguro para Tris e Tobias.
The Brave/Dauntless are the most discussed faction as it's the one chosen by Tris. They struggle against the coward and their clothing is all black. They are the only faction that uses tattoos and piercings and live in search of adrenaline, defying death in everything they do. They are responsible for the safety of all factions and have the habit of jumping from the train while it is moving. It's the only faction where there isn't senior members because at that age they no longer have the agility to this lifestyle so they end up becoming no-faction or choose to die. They don't have sorrow occasions and even funerals are a great and joyful feast that celebrates the life of the deceased. Despite being the most violent faction, they maintain a neutral relationship with the other factions even knowing that Erudite don't like them that much
Os Intrépidos são a fação mais abordada visto que é a escolhida por Tris. Lutam contra a cobardia e o seu vestuário é na totalidade preto. São a única fação que usa tatuagens e piercings e vivem em busca de adrenalina, desafiando a morte em tudo o que fazem. São responsáveis pela segurança de todas as fações e têm como hábito saltar do comboio enquanto este está em movimento. É a única fação em que não existem membros velhos por estes já não terem agilidade para este estilo de vida por isso acabam por tornar-se sem-fação ou escolhem morrer. Não têm ocasiões de tristeza e até mesmo os funerais são uma grande e alegre festa em que se celebra a vida do falecido. Apesar de serem a fação mais violenta, mantêm uma relação neutra com as outras fações apesar de saberem que os Eruditos não gostam muito deles.
Finally, these aren't considered one faction because they are those who, in society, don't fall under any of the five factions: the No-faction. They are described as beggars, being helped by the selfless and many people prefer death. They are extremely poor and live in ruined and abandoned areas.
Por fim, estes não são considerados uma fação por serem aqueles que, perante a sociedade, não se encaixam em nenhuma das cinco fações: os Sem-fação. São descritos como mendigos, sendo ajudados pelos Abnegados e muitas pessoas preferem a morte. São extremamente pobres e vivem em zonas arruinadas e abandonadas.
Now that you know a little better the factions, I can tell you that I loved this serie and that it may have exceeded the The Hunger Games. The history, despite having a similar background, provides different sensations and ends up pulling our attention to the point that even I do not want to stop reading.
Agora que já conhecem
It's an easy read, despite some vocabulary that some people may find challenging, but it's all a matter of habit.
É uma leitura fácil, apesar de ter algum vocabulário que algumas pessoas podem achar exigente, mas é tudo uma questão de hábito.
